Step down transformers converts 480 VAC three phase to 120 VAC. Low voltage used for lighting and appliances in the car.

Four lines link cars to each other. When the car is at the end of the train the cables are plugged into the receptacle. The HEP system is industry slandered used by Amtrak and private care owners.

Old unused parts were removed to make way for the cable runs.

High voltage cable runs through pope when going over trucks. Loop cable runs through EMT. Loop cables provides fail save circuit to insure all connections are properly connected before high voltage is applied.

Frame had pre-cut holes for the electrical piping, these were used for the steam line for example. Also existing brackets were used to attach the Unistrut.
